Gay life on Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria is famous for its gay life and nightlife, and the capital of Gran Canaria - Las Palmas is blessed with a large range of gay bars and clubs. At Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas on the south coast of Gran Canaria you will find the famous dunes ´Las Dunas´ - a nature reserve known for its ever-changing dunes and strong winds.
If you are looking to meet other gay people, you should make your way to the beach and the legendary Kiosk nr. 7 as this is Maspalomas´ gay meeting place. You can get there by foot – a walk that takes you through the incredible dunes – or you can take a taxi down to the promenade at Maspalomas Beach and walk the rest of the way to Kiosk nr. 7. Here you will meet people from all over the world.
The crowd starts to build up at 11 a.m. and people vacate the beach at 5 p.m. At night, most gay people continue the party in the shopping centre C.C Yumbo Playa del Ingles Gran Canaria, as it is famous for its nightlife, restaurants, bars and shopping facilities – you are able to buy clothes, footwear, jewellery, perfume, etc.
After a couple of hours in the bars on the ground floor, the party continues with listening to music videos in bars and clubs until early morning. All in all, life here on the island is fantastic and peaceful and everyone is accepted as who they are – regardless of their sexual orientation.

ProGay presents the third edition of the Winter Pride Maspalomas 7 to 13 November 2016 at Europe's largest and most popular gay paradise Gran Canaria. A week of high quality and entertaining events where the central message is respect and acceptance.
With 35,000 visitors from all over Europe accounts it to be an exciting week, where you can also enjoy an average temperature of 23 degrees in the daytime. The big live shows in Yumbo Main Stage is free, whereas you have to buy tickets to some of the special events during the week!

Meicker Bar in Yumbo-Playa del Ingles is the only Danish-owned gay bar in Gran Canaria. Jack and Eric welcomes you, whether you want to find new friends or socialize with other guests. Meicker bar is closed on Sundays
You will find Bar Meicker in the lower floor, the square at the arcade.
